First up, I hope this is ok with mods as it's a little off topic in it's retroness, but if the mods allow if then this could be of real help to me as I'm sure there is a lot of knowledgable people who can give advice.
I have a step son who is 23, he passed his driving test at 18 but he has never owned a car yet. He is now ready to purchase his first car and has came to me for advice on what to get, the problem is I'm so out of touch when it comes to normal day to day cars, every car I've owned for years has been an impractical toy.
What I've got to work with
He's 23 and has zero ncb so it needs to be a low insurance group.
He has his girlfriend plus 2 young kids so 4 or 5 doors is needed.
Small to medium size.
Budget of £500 going up to £1000 at the very most.
So I've got the task of finding him a cheap to insure and run first car.
Please fire away and let me know some suitable cars.
Thanks in advance.
