I’ve spent my first year with Peter Best insurance and this year with the renewal, they have asked if I am in a car club, presumably because it could mean discount. I used to be in a Scirocco club when I had one but now with the Mazda, I’m wondering who I could join so that discount is available to me.

Theoretically it could cost you over £40 to join a club and only end up getting £20 knocked off your insurance quote. Id be inclined to ask what kind of discount is in place before I shelled out for club membership. This is all a side issue really, clubs really ought to be joined because you want to be in them, the insurance discount would merely be a bonus.

Sometimes being a member of an online forum can provide a discount, but be wary as they could check up on what you've been posting

Thanks for the info guys, the Scirocco club was very beneficial in the end as it provided discount for some parts shops.
