The Jeep will have its MOT on tuesday and I would like to slap some temporary insurance on it so that I can tax it, while we sell our Mondeo. In the past when we were insured through Norwich Union and Tesco our insurers would give us 10 days or two weeks insurance on an extra vehicle, but now we are with Footman James and they won't.
Can anyone recommend a good source for a short term insurance policy, probably not more than a month.

I don't think you can use temporary policies to tax vehicles, I'm afraid - but I stand to be corrected. The easiest way is probably to take out a full policy on it, then cancel it. When I was with NUD I couldn't use their 30 month insurance on an additional vehicle to tax something, it had to be a full policy........same for Dayinsure as well I found this though: Might be worth looking at

I've managed to get tax with a tatty 7-day cover note, so I think it's a fallacy that you can't get VED with temporary policies.

put it up for sale on ebay and claim your free 7 day insurance from norwich - then cancel the sale (sellers AND buyers get the free 7 day insurance)
