So despite several hours of googling i cannot seem to find the external measurements of the mini / 1100 engine and gearbox in transverse form ie length x width x height. Can anyone either point me to a web page or pop out to their own motor with a tape measure.... Many thanks in advance.

I would, but my transverse car is 70km away... However, you probably should specify if with or without ancciliaries. 'Cause that makes a big difference

With height I can be of aid - I have a block, geabox & head with valve cover here :-) The rest is stashed somewhere I can't reach.
Height is about 61cm / 24".
