For one thing, my car doesn't work, and secondly, just won another engine on ebay.
This will bring my grand total to............ wait for it.............. THREE! One in the car and another one in bits! MENTAL NOTE: Do not have the room to start hoarding!
Seriously though, is it even possible to own a classic car with limited space to store/hoard stuff!? Everyone I've met so far always has a nice big stash of "stuff"!

All my junk is stored at me mam's house - she loves me she does. 2 V8's 1 Zetec 1 1256 cc 1 Pinto 1 saab turbo engine and box. As well as countless ammount of wheels, interior bits, panels, blocks, pistons. I think my mum is going to burn half of my stuff

you can always find space to hoard your tat. ive got a single car garage with 1 and a half mercedes' in it. one whole one, and the rest in bits that I stripped off the last one. bits in the shed to the point of having to open the door very slowly then catch whatever falls out, loads of bits under a tarpaulin behind the shed, and bits stashed all over the house. and were talking bits for cars ive had, bits for cars I don't have, and some for cars il likely never have. all part of how we live I think, cos most folk on here seem to be the same or worse.

Hoarding parts, engines, wheels and at the very worse, cars, becomes a way of life. Your friends and family eventually get used to it and take as part of your personality...take it or leave it kind of thing.
You need to be quite cunning sometimes and its often a delicate balance of moving cars and parts from place to place sometimes. I think once you become obsessed with old cars, there's no turning back....I really don't think I could ever NOT own something retro.

It does start getting stupid sometimes though, at one point I had over 30 2cv wheels with tyres stacked floor to cieling forming a pseudo pillar in the middle of our cellar. I'm much more sensible nowadays, got it all down to about one and a half cars worth of spares

Was clearing through some of my tat today in my one garage.
I've found an absolute stack of 70's Unipart bits all unopened in a box ;D and a load of other mini bits I brought and forgot about.

:)I must be a total headcase, I travelled over 1,000 miles in a week in a knackered old Transit that kept breaking down solely to strip and buy a load of bits from a few rotten old Skodas. The council lock up I rent to store the Bugrat in is now filled with it and the bits I already had!

i have about 3 sheds (out of the half dozen here) filled with car parts, half of its skoda, then theres a few fiat/vauxhall/mercedes etc etc bits, and then theres enough spares for about 3 complete CZ bikes, minus frames. i have approx 40+ wheels stored outside, with tyres, adn a few in the shed without (magnesium alloys anyone?) and then i have about 4 of the cars full of stuff. and in the field a shell, a collection of bits in a few big crates, a pallet with gearboxes and engines, and 2 open garages with 1 car each which i cant access due to parts surrounding them. and an interior in the porch which ive just been told to shift, and another interior in another shed. and then theres the bits in my room, wheel bosses and points kits etc. and the stuff outside. and all the bits in each boot.
so, the moral. hoard!

Everyone I've met so far always has a nice big stash of "stuff"! at one stage i had 2 axles on the kitchen floor , half the kitchen cupboards full of parts , about 12 wheels/tyres + numerous bumpers in the loft , a back screen behind the sofa and the cupboard under the stairs full of bits too . not to mention the shed outside (thats the wooden one not the kadett..) and the lockup where i keep the firenza.. its all part of the fun

I`ve doubled my classic ownership since joining this site, and I never thought I`d be routing through the boot of a Chrysler 180 thinking "for f*cks sake, what am I gonna do with all these instrument binnacles?"

I've been a hoarder for some time now! it gets to saturation point then I have a mass clear out, only knowing it will all start up again! Currently, I have two Corbeau GT buckets with Sabelt four points and also a PG1 gearbox decoratiing my living room! oh, and my old skool chrome BMX Burner complete with black skyways! So hardly any clutter for me, really!

I've got a huge stack of Range-Rover panels up the side of the house but they will go when the guys comes to pick the car up next weekend.
Shed's got a couple of boxes of Mk4/5 Cortina parts in left over from when I had my 'Tina estate, some of which are brand new (which I'll be sorting out and putting up for grabs in the next couple of weeks), plus a huge roofrack and a 2' teetering pile of wheeltrims.
Garage has a mix of Volvo 360 bits, Land Rover bits, Mini parts (including a Madadash, a set of 'S' reverse-rims and about 8 Mini Special Alloys) some huge white-lettered Bakelite tyres from the 70's and a genuine Porsche 914 bucket seat that a mate gave me years ago buried under all the curse word.
SWMBO's making overtures about buying herself an MX5 next year so I'll need to clear it all this summer.
