Hehehe ! I've just bought a lower strut brace for my mk1 to compliment my new coilovers. Q - Its an OMP one ( yes yes - I'm on a budget ! ) , can i still use the existing lower wishbone bolts or do I have to get some longer ones ?? anyone.......anyone ?? ;D thanks...

sorry i cant help you, but that golf is nice, I'm guessing its yours, what wheels are they? they look like banded steels or something.

I don't know for sure fella, but I'd always assumed longer ones - I'd want the same amount of thread actually in the captive nut as before if the original is only just long enough for it's purpose (I can't remember off the top of my head). Can you e-mail OMP about it?

Jelly on ClubGTI/Edition 38 has fitted a lower strut brace to his Golf IIRC and should be able to provide a response

You can get a 5mm plate under the standard bolts with the thread still protruding through the captive nut. You may find the OMP brace is too short. It should measure 683mm centre - centre.

mounted one on my derby, basically the same principle and i used the original bolts..
had to widen the holes in the brace though
