That looks perfect... I think that the subtle wheel banding you have planned will work a treat! After that I think that to do anything else would ruin the clean look of this perfect specimen of a Granada... You are very lucky indeed sir...!!!

I then wanted to start cleaning the interior as it stinks of wood (the material not the smell of a boner) best quote ever!

Thank you all for your comments and feedback. It's greatly satisfying to know you lot like the progress.
I am actually now happier with the height, I don't really want it dragging its @ss along the floor.
In answer to some of the questions. There are no further changes planned to the look other than polishing and the banded steels. The rest is staying OEM. I really can't wait to get the steels banded out.

So, not a major update but an update non the less. I focused my attention on the rear passenger door as there were a few issues going on there. Firstly I removed the dented chrome trim from the door top as you can see here. The dents were really noticeable and quite annoying. I gave the paint underneath a clean up as it had some brown stains! You can see from the pictures that the vinyl on this door had started to peel away. I'm guessing due to prolonged sun light. So I whipped the door card off. Here you can see the problem. So peeled back the stripped bit and applied some adhesive. Then clamped it down whilst I went to make a Sunday fry up! Returned later and removed the clamps. Hey presto we have a door card that is no longer looking sad for itself. On another note, as mentioned earlier in the thread I'll be giving the Granny some banded steels. Managed to pick up these original GL steel wheels. These will be being banded soon. All comments welcome and greatly appreciated.

youve gotta love a poverty spec mk2,they must be getting real rare now especially in this condition. your doing a great job there mate well done. wouldnt be suprised if the lesser models start costing as much as the common ghia x's. mine was rotted out everywhere when i took mine apart but this one looks like its been looked after, and its nice to see it being looked after even more now.

Ok so it's update time for the Granada. She's been getting a bit upset that the Cavalier has been hogging most of my attention. So today I pulled her out of the garage to treat her. A while ago I invested in a RUPES Bigfoot orbital polishing kit. I tested one at Goodwood festival of speed and I was totally impressed. I've used orbitals before and they tended to drag or snatch. However the Bigfoot doesn't because of it's elliptical throw. Anyway here is the kit. There are 4 stages and they're all colour coded. 1. Blue (Coarse) 2. Green (Medium) 3. Yellow (Fine) 4. White (Ultra Fine) You get the polishes, pads and cloths. Again all colour coded. So I dragged the Granny out and decided to focus on two areas to learn on. The bootlid and the OSR wing. They both look like this. Flat paint, oxidised and very rough to touch. Not nice at all. So first job was to wash off any surface muck and dust with just soapy water and chamois dried. Next it was a good session with the clay bar to get rid of any imperfections on the paintwork. Then after the clay session, it was washed and dried again. Even at this point it was already looking better. Just not good enough. Then it was time to mask off the badges, rear window and rubber/chrome trims as with an orbital the polish can go everywhere! Then it was a case of working through all 4 stages taking your time and covering the panels in an up and down then side to side formation. A bit like a # symbol. Once polished off with cloths and sealed with a nice wax I was really impressed with the results. I'll let the pictures do the talking. I'm really pleased with the result and can't recommend the Bigfoot enough. Only problem is I now have to do the rest of the car too. Thanks for looking and all comments appreciated.

That looks mint, a proper job too with that orbital polishing kit. I love this car, as so many others have stated you hardly ever see any base models anymore as every one wants the Ghia's and so on. Keep up the great work.

Thank you all very much, I'm hoping with it being a much lesser base model (poor relation to the Ghia X) it will be a rarer model to find. I'm still trying to locate a front bumper but it's proving hard. Hopefully I'll get cracking on some more polishing during the week.
AB car pix I totally love your Chrysler Horizon. It's an amazing car and done totally to my tastes! I honestly can't tell you how much I like it.

Cheers! It's unlikely I'll ever get rid of it, but a Mk2 Granada is one thing that might be the car to change my mind someday!
