I've come away with the folks in a cottage near Kingsbridge, and my dads Saab had issues on the way down. By the looks of things. It's an EGR issue. Probably just needs a good clean out.
Being from the other end of the country, i don't know of any mechanics round here. If you're from anywhere near, feel free to let me know of anyone.
Cheers

Rich606 is from Kingsbridge (although currently residing in France). He would be the first person is contact to enquirer about a local mechanic. I hope you get it sorted? BTW, I love that area, many fond memories of holidays down there with my GF in the 90's.

To be honest the only places I really know in Kingsbridge are R&G Autos on the industrial estate in the centre of Kingsbridge, or Quay Autos, the Ford and Suzuki dealership in the town centre. Quay Autos are where my parents always take their car, always been very helpful and reliable, and very reasonably priced. R&G are a little bit cheaper but a slightly smaller outfit so the wait can be a bit longer. I don't really know any mobile mechanics if the car isn't driveable. Sorry I can't really be of more help.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Cheers guys. The Saab is booked in at Roberts Autos on Union Road ( i think) tomorrow.
I'm pretty certain its just the EGR valve, but my Dad is in worst case scenario mode, and is talking about injectors!
Either way, thanks for the help. Great area of the UK, and I spent many years as a kid down here camping in the early 90's.
Oddly enough, there was a murder here last night! Not what I expected to come across when here!
