I have just resprayed my espace black, from gold. I intend on informing the dvla, however I go abroad in it a week on thursday, so if I send off the v5 there is pretty much no chance I'll get it back before I go. I have heard that the border police at the port have anpr s and they are bound to have an issue with incorrect colour. Does anyone have any experience or advice on what to do in this situation?
My gut feeling is just leave it as is, and explain the situation if I have to, as getting stopped for being in a car that is the wrong colour, and then having to say "sorry I haven't got a v5"... I might as wel wear a mask and carry a bag with swag written on it!
Of course it is the law in europe that I must carry my documents with me

I had previously deliberately stayed in a different lane from the copper coz i knew the anpr would flag the colour up, but he pulled in behind me, sat there for a couple of minutes, then put his lights on and pulled us. He said he'd pulled me for my "antics", i said i was sorry, then he asked about the colour change...
