My brother comes home after a year away, I loaned his car to a friend to use, to b e returned when he does, but as always, disaster strikes! The friend was upset when the cam belt broke.....after is was supposedly replaced by the previous owner. It was a very tidy 306 sedan.....ugly, good and worth about a pound!
So, I'm looking out for a cheap motor....up to £6- 700, preferably diesel, something reliable and reasonably easy to fix. He had a 405 ex taxi, which was a good car, so wondering about 407's? Bubble rover 200 diesel? I have a friend who bought an old freelander for £500, and was surprised at how good it was.
So anyone have any ideas? As we only run cars over 21, I'm out of touch with the bangers and pitfalls.
