As a beneficiary last year, I feel this needs to happen.
I've managed to gather some fresh tat...and would happily pay a tenner for a peanut butter Kitkat!

Say the word and I can enter some tat. Loads of rare parts for cars that aren't worth anything

A few of us discussed it on Facebook, this time donating the proceeds to a charity. I'm not sure how far organising it has got yet...

^ Can somebody copy-n-paste details from Facebook if anything gets organised. Some of us prefer to go out and play in the sunshine rather than join Facebook (which is why we didn't know about the last auction until we got to last years Garthering) Many thanks ps. Just say the word and I'll start planning an expedition to the back of the garage (a.k.a. junkshop) for tat valuable items to donate to a worthy cause.

I'm happy to host this at the club house (or outside the club house) on Saturday evening.

sorry guys!
yeah of course we'll still have a tat auction - if it's ok with hotwire et al of course
I've got a few ideas lined up for suitable charities to donate to, I'm thinking probably split the proceeds between a few - open to suggestions, but leave em til the day at shelsey, and see me there
regarding tat, I think we'll lose our way if we end up with everyone emptying their garage of absolute wibblepoo, so keep it retro / cool / interesting / obscure if you can - I doubt even I can sell a joblot of 867 morris marina centre console trims
also if you are donating, can you bundle 'matching' stuff up together, so if you have a load of cortina bits, and a load of bluebird bits, keep em seperate? and possibly marked up with what they are?
we'll kick off around the same time as last time, back of the truck will hopefully give me more stability than a stack of wellers like last time
and mine's a cider....

I'm happy to host this at the club house (or outside the club house) on Saturday evening. outside please david, unless it's curse word down - dunno the layout, but campsite might be better for gathering the troops - guess we can figure the logistics on the day?

It was done on Facebook last year as the beneficiaries are members of the forum, so it wouldn't have been a secret had it been posted here. This year, fortunately, nobody's unit has burned to the ground so it's being organised in the open and on Retro Rides, and the proceeds donated to charity. The discussion I mentioned about this years one on FB was just a few mates talking about it, rather than any kind of organising. That was always going to be done on RR and not FB, as far as I know. I think Kev was getting round to putting a thread up. I'll have a look in the unit and find some items to donate!
