As you can probably gather from the title I'm not someone that spends loads of time cleaning/detailing my cars.. Although I do know what the two bucket method is/have employed it from time to time.
As I only wash any of my cars a couple of times a year - it makes perfect sense to me, to let the rain do the pre/post rinses and run outside with a bucket/sponge when it starts raining. However judging by some of the looks I get from passers by it must strike them as odd!
Surely I'm not alone?!

one word of warning, most of the time rain tends to drop very fine dust on everything, so washing straight with a sponge isnt the greatest idea.

I often used to wash my cars just after it had rained, because I used Mer polish which has to be applied to wet bodywork.

On some of my cars I'll only do it once every 3-4 years (if), and when I do I'll do it in the rain too
I hate washing cars!

Nope I tend to clean mine after the rain had stopped so as to clear away the dust. Hoping tomorrow to get up in the morning clean both the cars and layer up some wax on them

Not intentionally but if it's light rain when it plan to wash it I carry on. Much prefer it to hot sun any way as I hate it when the car dries while I'm still washing.

I rarely wash cars but when I do I hose them down beforehand to soften the dirt, so if it's raining that bits done for me already. Makes sense to let nature do some of the work.

What is this "washing" you speak of....
Mine only gets cleaned when it rains.

Get a chappy to do it for you. Mind, that's easy to say when it costs two quid to get a RR cleaned and polished!
