I thought it was about time I introduced my E28 after owning it for nigh on a year! I swapped this car for my E39 525i M Sport a car I did love but was just too modern for me. I have owned a few older BMWs including a 1602, E21 and an E30 but always fancied an E28. I had pretty much done the deal on this car before even seeing it so was chuffed to bits when I went to pick it up, it was in superb condition. When I first got the car I already knew in my head how I wanted it to look so in time it was sitting a tad lower and wearing some nice dishy German wheels. I have also recently bought a rotten 525e and in time will pinch all the electric gizmos and most importantly the power steering off it for my 518. Since owning the 518 I haven't seen another M10 carb version and have heard they are rather rare! Are there any E28 518 Carb owners on here? The most recent modification are the Kawasaki ZZR1100 Carbs, they have give the little lump a bit more power (120 at the wheels) but more importantly it sounds mega. Anyway enough waffling here's a few pictures, I have had the wheels mirror polished since I took these, hope you like. Nice car, looks great in white. I've got a green one! 518 carb with a weber conversion, no power steering, electric windows etc. It's currently off the road to fit power steering and EFI from a later 518i. I used it daily for a year or so but it got hard work to drive it town with the very heavy steering and carb engine. I took these pictures not long after I bought it -

Cheers guys, awesome looking car mate. Good to know there are others knocking about! Ramirez here's a quick pic of the current setup, it's still work in progress as I'm not happy with the manifold I made. Gonna have an aluminium one made when I get some cash together. Untitled by NJ-P, on Flickr

Wheels look awesome, what are they?
Turbo it! M10s are strong, ample space in the e28 bay and it would be so cool!!

E28s are the go to car when I think of dish - yours shows it in a nutshell. Intakes 1 and 4 are defo your problem with your carb setup, tubes need to be angled rather than kinked, but i'm sure you already realise this.

Oh that looks fantastic. My father in law had a white 520i in the late 90s. Was absolutely fantastic to drive. He traded it in when it started to give starting problems before I could buy it off him. He bought a Renault Clio would you believe! Keep the photos coming.
