welshpug: I promise I will do a search and replace on all my posts and change "road tax" to RFL... We are leaving from south queensfery, we will be there from about 7 with a departure of 9am. 53 cars booked in this year!! Magic, we'll see you there. I might bring the Winehouse car but the rear spheres are humped so it bounces down the road and makes us all feel a bit sick. I paid close to Rust To Rome money for it, by the way... If you want to sell it let me know, need a car around budget for next year!!!! We will be in a dark red Accord with a Metal flake Saltire on the bonnet!

How do i tax the car with no paper work then? Walk into your local DVLA office, take proof of insurance and your MOT. Then explain the situation, you've just purchased the car, the DVLA have the V5 and you need to tax it, they can do it there and then for you. They will have the sellers name/address on their system, you will need to provide this. The last time I taxed a UK car was in a similar scenario, I purchased it to bring it over and sell here. DVLA can be very helpful when you're trying to give them money. thats a bit impossible as the last of the local offices closed last December! It's now send it to Swansea or hope you can do it at the post office

Also if you do t have the v5 you should t be driving it on France as it's a legal requirement there to carry it at all times in the vehicle

Go to your local Post Office with the green slip, sales receipt etc and I'd imagine you'll be fine. Same for driving in Europe. I still hadn't received my new V5C from the DVLA and I didn't have the newest MOT certificate when I took the MX5 to Belgium so I took all the other paperwork I had including a receipt. Never got pulled though (even when going past a couple of coppers in a car watching traffic a little bit too fast...) so can't say what would have happened if I had.
Do you bring the car back home? I'd be more worried about our ANPR cameras picking you up to be honest.
