Saloon or estate? For sale or not?
I recall there was a company in south london (I think) that in the '80's specialised in modifying volvo's from new - you could have just about every option: bodykits, bigger turbo's custom interiors etc.
Anyone else remember these - or am I taking balls as per usual?

Noooooo not a body kit! I think white cars with bodykits look like kitchen appliances. Take it all off, including the factory gumpf, fill the holes, smooth.

Bodykits: I'm not a big fan. Pointless excess weight IMO. And the design of them is never up to the same standard as the original car. Some cars look good with a kit but most don't I reckon. A Volvo I'd really like to own is one of those 240 based coupes (265 was it? Dunno...) T5 engine (mounted the right way round 'course!) lowered and smoothed. Luuuurvely!

Or the more normal 2 door model, not the Bertone? There aren't that many of these either, this is a 242 as opposed to a more sporty model. I know where a lovely dark blue 240 GLT 4 door is. With regards to the one you saw,for a start, I'd have it without the bodykit, with the chrome, grille included, and in silver instead of white, otherwise it sounds great! Bertone worked with Volvo on this thing too, the Volvo 780, which was basically a 2 door coupe model of the 760 saloon, V6 engine and all.

Gotta be honest, a white 240 with a bodykit sounds quite nightmarish to me.... anybody ever seen one of these in the UK? I saw one for sale near the peugeot factory in Mulhouse about a year ago, not cheap tho at about 10000 Euros.

Great car the 780, I had a picture of one on the last post I made on this thread, but it didn't work, it's back up again now! It's basically a 2 door coupe based on the V6 powered 760 saloon, funny that you saw one near the Pugeot head office, the Douvrin V6 that some Pugeots had was in the 780 as well.
