Hi Folks,
Last year I bought this car from a chap who had stickered it up to do a Barcelona Bangers Rally. I became the very proud third owner of this epic beast to fulfil a Le Mans 2013 Top Gear style challenge to find a cheap car to make a Touring Replica with for Le Mans 2014. The car came up with the stickers and was an ideal buy so the rest is history.
With a mere 134,000 miles on the clock she is just about run in with her bog standard 2.4ltr 5 cylinder engine (which has a surprisingly lovely 5 cylinder growl at high rpm). She is a glorious poverty spec. car, with manual rear windows, manual passenger mirror, manual sun roof, no OBC, Manual gearbox, no cruise control but heated seats thanks to the quirkiness of the Swedish!! In addition she does have headlamp washers, a zillion air bags and SIPS, but best of all, the most classy pimp style blue VELOUR interior - it doesn't get any better!!
The car has recently had a fresh MOT (clean sheet pass no less - what would you expect for a 20 yr old Volvo?) and a 6 month tax disc as of the 1st June. I have also replaced the boot struts that were dead (it now opens very quickly indeed, you have been warned!), I also did the thermostat as it was running cold, gave her a new set of ignition leads, and an oil service before we left. I also fitted a CD player with iPod playing/charging connectivity which was endlessly handy for the trip!
The car is stickered up in the No. 15 Rydell livery from the mid 90s super touring era. The stickers were done by the previous owner and aren't professional by any means but look the part for a bit of fun. You could leave them on and enjoy a cheap touring car look for fun or peal them for a very useful work horse.
All the photos below show the car with my 18" Pegasus wheels from my T5 to complete the look on the cheap which can be bought but are not included with the car (I have the original steel wheels and trims or can do a deal on some T5 throwing star wheels [see the bruntingthorp picture]).
Now Le Mans 2014 is over and the car very capably got 3 of us and luggage the 1000 mile round trip, its time to move on so she is up for sale for someone else to have fun with so i can focus on other cars!
I am asking for £700 for the car, or £1200 with the 18" Pegasus wheels. If you want a fun car, its perfect and gets a LOT of attention, but equally it could be stripped of the stickers and it would make a very good honest estate car to pile people / kit in!

Photos!
On track at Le Mans Porsche Curves (just where No.1 Audi was written off in Testing!)
Waiting in the marshal post at the Ford Chicane looking mean... haha
At the Ford Chicane
At Bruntingthorp where she was tracked for the Asda charity day, helping to raise money for Rally for Heros with the T5 throwing star shoes on!
Some photos from before we left for Le Mans
She really needs to be SLAMMED on these wheels but I didn't bother for the sake of a 1000 mile drive to France... it would also ruin the ability to return it to standard trim!
Our Le Mans Group logo is also pride of place - The Gulp Gang!
Got the stomach for this sea of blue velour interior??
Handy load cover too
Back seats don't look like they have ever been sat on
Blaupunkt CD player with all the instructions and an ipod connector (doesnt take iPhones or iPods with lightening connector as I am not that fancy)
The 18" Pegasus beauties!
Let me know if there is anything else you want to see!
Thanks for looking!
