Hi guys. Think I'm going to do a small project for this, with first off designing a intake manifold for a set of bike carbs I had completely forgot about that are sitting in my garage in a box.... I can make it at work, just need some guidance of the design for it, looks like I'll be doing some research. I got a different head with larger chambers that I will use as well Velly excite

always wanted an XS, fair play for keeping it going Thanks buddy It is fun to try and keep it going. Problem i have is too many choices for things to do to the engine performance or even a change. So undecided. A guy at work was the one who mentioned fitting carbs, good thing is he's a slight petrol head also

I had an XS years ago and have always wanted another. There was an awesome black one doing the rounds a good few years back that used an R5 GT Turbo carb and turbo to make a nice little pocket rocket!
Bike carbs should be good on the TU engine and if you get truly bored, then the 1.6 16v out of a Saxo or a 106 GTi are reasonably easy swaps as they're all TU engines...

rysz I saw that black turbo, didn't it have the problem of blowing up pistons if I remember correctly I did look in to it as I would of loved a wee turbo for added grins.. I'd like to keep an 8valve, just because lol. But I have a few other plans.

car drove faultlessly along to retro show at the pod, however on arrival while i was setting up the tent. ptttsssshhhhhhhh was all i heard i looked over and all i could see was the front of the car surrounded by steam........... i ran over turned the engine off and carried on building the tent, then popped the bonnet to find what had happened, to find a pipe didn't want to be a pie no more and changed into a sieve. so i repaired it with a bit of help from another 205 owner who kindly took me to the nearest store, that happened to be a halfords :S We used a generic hose to fix it so i could drive home on the sunday, even with a few small kinks in the pipe. so i couldnt drive up the strip was looking forward to it as it was my first time, oh well next time i took a few pictures not the greatest (but should i upload some?) heres a pic i got of my own ride i have since sourced a few replacement water pipes from a breaker (a stroke of luck, the ones they had were near mint) i will get to fitting them soon

Awesome car, love 'em.
I used to have a '90 GR, TU3A engine, Rallye steels, GTI valance, lowered etc. Not enough power to pull the skin of a rice pudding but brilliant handling a lovely engine you could properly drive to its limit. Definitely want another one day.

Thanks for the comments reminds me that I need to add some more updates lol. Yes I'm still on std arms, works fine no problems, I have a 1.6 gti rear beam fitted also. Handlings great nimble and pointy, if you get what I mean. I couldn't compare it to a gti as ive never driven one back to back with this.

Well guys I made it to France and back with no trouble. Wellll apart from a fuse deciding to not be a fuse anymore got it sorted from Mr Rolls Royce haha. On another note today I took her for a mot today and glad to say she passed. Emissions where high but its got a ticket whoop whoop On the oil leak side I have found the problem now. After removing my exhaust to get to the sump easier, re sealed it and did a quick filter change... Only to find that the oil wasn't the sump its the damn pressure sensor haha, may aswell buy a new one as its only a few quid Sorry for the lack of pictures

How dare you ruin your 205 by fitting a CD player! I'm trying to stick with my tape deck, even got a few new tapes off ebay.

Haha stevietuck. Normally I have had none in there, had to fill it with something. Although you can barely hear it most of the time but don't worry I will fit a retro looking one once I get it It does light up red does that give me some points back haha Yes, they made a big difference on mine, they're adjustable so you can get it all aligned correctly. Purchased from miles at Pugracing also check the linkage on the subframe, mine was shot so I got a new one made up. HTH
