Are cant get the link to work it just go,s back to the blank forum
The mot history shows the car had done wait for it 525,001 miles in 2006 obviously this was a cock up at the time I'm amazed the owner dident spot it. But for the last 7 years 2007 till feb this year its done just short of 400 miles. This threads a bit pointless now without being able to view the mot history.

Fat fingers typing probably, its a real curse word to get put right apparently (even if you do notice at the time), it would be the least of my worries to be honest. My van too has got a random 6 digit mileage recorded for one of the MOT's which is kind of surprising given its only got a 5 digit odometer.....

My Pajero has 3 years missing on the online records but it did 30,000Km. I forgot to check it until after I bought it but it hasn't caused me any issues!

My Scirocco's is amusing. Since I bought it it's been something along the lines of: 118000, 132000, 145000, 145500, 197000, 120000. The sad thing is there's no typo's involved! (just different sets of clocks and several engines to go with them.)
But yeah, it sounds like it's just a typing error, I'm guessing it's meant to be 52501 or something similar?

I`m guessing the OP is more concerned about the fact it has only done 400 miles in 7 years, than the typo?
There`s two ways at looking at this IMO. TVR`s are generally used as weekend toys, and rarely do lots of miles. It`s quite possible the type of car that it is that it`s been sat in a garage for years, not going far (either this, or being a TVR, it could`ve broken down and the owner couldn`t afford to repair it!) It entirely possible that the car has onlt done 400 miles in 7 years........
This is where the problems may lie. Any car which has done so few miles in that timescale will no doubt have issues pretty soon after it`s used again. In a normal car, generally a good rule of thumb would be to give it a thorough going over as soon as you get it, including water pump, belts etc etc. In a TVR, it might get expensive, as they`re not known for reliability and inexpensive repairs.
It could well be totally OK. If it was me personally who was buying a TVR, I`d rather buy one which has been been run on a more regular occasion than it appears this one has.
Obviously, this is said without viewing the car. Maybe follow your instincts. If you have a funny feeling about it, don`t buy it. First impressions count.

Ive been to see the car today and first impresions were it was a bit unloved. I had it up on a ramp and i managed to push my finger through the chassis in one place. 4 tires were on the limit. windscreen has started to delamanate ideally it needs a full repaint as there quite a few more marks around the body than the photos show. There was oil leeking from underneath to much to see where it was coming from, all around the sump and then blown back all over the gearbox. It looks like it been standing a long time outside as all the disc and shocks were covered in surface rust. The miles on the mot history are the same for 2012 and 2013 so either its been taken to the mot garage on a flat bed and not driven at all or the speedo wasent working for that year. There was quite a few other smaller problems to. Here a link to the original add www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181437306760?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

IMO, if it's that bad, walk away. You can get a decent chimaera for not much more than that. Wait a bit longer, or even just until Autumn/winter and you'll get much more car for not a lot more.

sounds like an excellent opportunity to walk away - that eBay auction says nothing about an oil leak or a rusty chassis!!

The guy selling it was tidy enough but i think he just bought it with a view of making a quick few quid. I don't think he really knows what he,s bought or got himself into, I had the impression that a few people must have been to see it and that he was fed up of time wasters and said if i dident buy it he was sending it to auction. He even offered a AA viehicle check and offered to pay for it if they found anything wrong with the car. If he did buy it to help out a mate some mate he must be.
