Most of you know my neighbour Mickey. He is 69 now and gave up his Mercedes Sprinter vn with intergalactic mileage at the end of last year after the engine blew up. He has not stopped working though, as his head does not work that way. He now works at a scrap dealer/recyclers yard, doing everything from cutting to moving and weighing. Last week he came home excited that he had something come in which just had my name on it. So this morning at 06.00 we were standing chatting over the hedge as we often do early mornings when he showed me the pics. Later today he saw me and said that the yard would let me have the chassis for £15.00 Gotta be worth it. Of course this raises the question....... What to do with it?? This is the original with wheel barrow wheels. He also had a pic of this little wagon, he reckons its worth a fair whack, but offered it to me for £35.00 I offered it to mate Martin to move his parts around with and then when he is done with it, it will be coming back to me to be turned into a rather large "Radio Flyer" tug-along with solid sides and painted red. Nicola has laid claim to it, for towing her chocolate around in, said you can never be too prepared. Maybe not as big as this though.

Make something for the next gathering
Chop it about and make a welding cart/ mobile bench
Sit in it and make revving engine noises
And if mickey sees any benchtop metal lathes laying about, i'll pay a premium for them

Looks like a decent size. The front seating area could easily become an engine bay. Ride on Lawnmower rear axle.

That looks like a mini off roader. You have got to motorise it.

Great fun these dino carts. I remember bombing around a caravan park in Scarborough a couple of summers back, there are places hire them out. I thought of getting one once we were back home but looking on eBay at the time they were going for about 300 quid second hand.
Good find.
What about a pedal electric hybrid, it would be a shame to motorise it completely.

Briggs and Stratton is your friend... Turn it into a pit kart. Load it up with beer and drive around the gathering spreading good cheer...

This morning early, before going off to work, I popped into the scrap yard to check out the chassis and wagon Mickey had told me about. I guess it looked a bit weird, me arriving in a suit, and him in a bright green health and safety suit. I approved of the chassis and wagon. Tonight after work, I went home and grabbed the truck and went down to fetch my treasures. Can you say Junk Yard Dog ?? Loaded, with Mickey standing by. Then off to drop the wagon at Martins place as he will be using the wagon for his chassis. Once at Martins we removed the sides and he too it in, he had been at home today, dismantling his truck even further. Thats all for today.

did you get that motorised OAP scooter a while back Grizz? could you fashion something out of the pair Paid £30.00 for the scooter and gave Mickey next door a tenner to fetch it for me in his white van. Scooter is now up for sale, not going to use it, want £30.00 for the scooter which is a twin motored electric thing. I have a unproven, but supposedly "it runs" Briggs & Stratton 10hp motor with vertical drive shaft and a dodgy rear axle off a ride on mower...... I think they are more likely to be married up. If you know anyone wanting the scooter to create havoc with, or sell on at a profit, let me know.

10hp is about what my 250cc motorbike has. Should move that thing along quite well.

Love the pedal cart. Have to say I'd be tempted to fix it back up to almost normal and sell it if they go for £300 though?

Well, it does not always end up with the hero living happily ever after. I have changed my mind, and bought a Dino Car frame which I am hoping to get an axle onto and a 10hp motor on the back. So the Mobility scooter I bought a few weeks ago is now for sale. I paid a large donation to a Housing Agencies favourite charity to get it out of their yard, as I had planned on using the steering and chassis to build a Retro Rides Gathering toy. If you look at what the spares from these, broken for spares, makes, you will be shocked, I was certainly. Use your GOOGLE-Fu to check out the Hercules ST with Twin Motor Technology. I have listed it on Ebay for £30.00 opening bid. PM's please if you are interested.
