Hi All,
Here for sale or swap is my Mazda MX5/ Eunos Roadster S-Spec.
The car -
It's got pop-up lights!!!
Mot till March next year, I had it done as soon as I bought, although it had a few months remaining, just to get a good look underneath it. It is very clean and completely solid. Looks like a 5year old car under there!
Tax till November.
Low mileage, it was imported in 2002 with 60k km, the speedo was converted to mph and it's now showing 93k, that's only 70,000 miles. I've put just over 3000 miles on it in the 2/3months I've owned it and it's been great. Handled my old 80mile commute with ease.
Being an S-Spec it comes with-
Limited Slip Diff
Strut brace front and rear
Electric windows which after regreasing the runners are super fast for an MX!
Air conditioning, which is ice cold.
Heated rear window connections and switch, very sort after!
The original Bilstein suspension has been upgraded to fully adjustable Meister R coilovers, arguably the best street suspension for the 5.
I have recently fitted an as new hood, in perfect condition, I also replaced the rain rail. I believe the car has had a hard top fitted for most of its life anyway.
It has a hardtop in matching Brilliant Black, with a heated rear screen and stand for safe keeping during the summer months! It could do with the paint being touched up in a few places.
As well as having clear side repeaters and 'detangoed' front indicators I've fitted bulb holders into the side reflectors, which are wired into the side lights. Makes for US-spec side markers, really sets the car off at dusk.
Excellent tread on Uniroyal tyres fitted to Mazda 'Daisy' style wheels.
It has speakers in the headrests of the cloth seats, although like most they are split and I didn't wire them in. It has decent aftermarket door speakers which are more than loud enough!
The interior is in excellent condition, as expected for a car of this mileage. The seats are wear and rip free, the door cards have the desirable teardrop speaker panels and it os fitted with nice 'Roadster' step/kick plates. A MOMO steering wheel and Nardi gear knob finishes it of nicely. The only downside to the interior is the vinyl on the dash has a crack, unnoticeable if you weren't looking for it.
I've fitted central locking which all works as it should, it is on a Mazda flip key, similar to that of a VW/Audi.
Being a '93 it has the 1.6 16v 115bhp which is more than enough for some fun.
It's also good on fuel, can get 40+mpg on a run.
Recent cambelt and both drive belts. Fresh oil and filter.
A new cone air filter, with the correct adapter plate for the MAF.
I have brand new front disks too, although the ones fitted are fine.
The body on the whole is good, still gets a lovely deep shine. Both sills have been repaired in the past, one having been done just over a year ago, been done to a good standard and are nice and solid, there is no rot on this car. The paint on and around the fuel filler flap has crazed, again not really noticeable, the car looks fantastic at 10ft away. It does have a few carpark little dings as usual. Where the rear mudguards have been removed there are spots where they have rubbed through the paint, I intended to buy and refit some.
Lots of history, with every MOT since being imported.
A perfect car to keep in it's current state or modify further.
I'm reluctantly selling it as I know nothing I buy next will be as fun, but I want more seats and I'm missing having a VW.
I am asking £1800ono.
I am open to P/X with money either way.
I'm currently looking at Mk2 Golf GTi 8V's, Mk4 Golf/Bora 1.8T, Mk2 Polo's, BMW E30/E46, Merc 190's. But I'd consider almost anything providing the insurance is reasonable/same as the 5.
