I want to see what people learnt to drive in / were their first cars?? Here was mine -   Turns out it was made almost entirely from filler! I crashed it being a new driver  Lookd ace as i put gold alley cats on it too, red car, blavk vinyl (sp?) roof, gold wheels = pimpin  So what ya got? J |

No pics ,but learnt to drive in HA &HB Vivas (driving school cars ) Also practiced (driving that is ! lol) in A35 Saloon and van ,and MK1 Escort . First vehicle owned was 105e van .

My first car was bought when i was 16, thats now 14 years ago. I've had it on and off the road ever since, been laid up these last 3 years. Will see the road again. This car has seen so much with me i will never get rid. Not bad for a 20 quid purchase eh?  |

Need a scanner! Check my picture of a picture skilz. This was my first car. 79 Mini bought from my neighbours daughter for £70. They thought it would fail it's MOT on a rusty rear sub-frame, but never took it to check. I did and it only needed to 4'' patches in both rear corners welding and no SF work, bonus. My dad and i sprayed it on the drive way, with a makeshift spray booth consisting of a scoffold tower and 3 tarps. Then my bro who was a vinyl fitter at the time cut and applied the checks. I fitted MG Metro front seats and a flat sheet of ally as a front grill with round holes cut just in front of the rad, looked quite good IMO but can't find any front on pics. Finaly the wheels were the best bargain. We were unloading some rubbish out of our van at the tip when these Starmags rolled past us. The guy in the van next door was throwing them out, so the tip guys took them for tot. They wanted £20 for them so we met at £15 and shasam one cool set of wheels. Fun car, almost rolled it once by getting it right up on two wheels, which was fun. Sadly sold it to a mate and it got torched, but hey sh*t happens.  |

No Mini for me, though the purchase of one by mum (which my aunt had won in a Daily Mail competition!) led to me buying this low miles Cherry off her in 1988. I took lessons and passed my test in it, then I ran it until buying a Sunny in 1989. Door bottoms and arches already going rusty, so I got it repaired and actually made a profit when it got sold.  I saw it in on the A14 in 1993 or so, DVLA says it died not long after that. Shame. |

Not the -actual- one, but near as dammit identical.  Bought for (i think) about £150 from the 'grot' selection round the back of a local dealer. Happy dayz, 1995 seems a loooong time ago now. |
