As a long time lurker & infrequent poster, it is probably about time I contributed something.... Bajaclub is a loose collection of Baja bug and VW buggy owners, united through the bajaclub.co.uk forum. We meet up a few VW event through the year, as well as organising our own get together weekends at various off-road locations. This is my car: It's a '73 with plenty of modifications (flip front, raised suspension, upgraded drive train, full cage etc etc). I have tried to capture some of our events in YouTube videos:

My bad - but even better!! That looks like a LOT of fun!! And brings back my "mud & off-road toy"-itch... Must. Resist.

Thanks for the comments It is a lot of fun - and you wouldn't believe the positive reactions that you get from people when driving a Baja on the road! Last week I had someone pull into a petrol station next to me, just to ask if it drives like the ones on the PlayStation..... It's free to join the forum, and anyone who enjoys Baja bugs / buggies / any off road VW is very welcome (and even the odd Citroen). We are most active in the south-west, the videos and pictures above are all from Bristol / Plymouth / Salisbury plain.

And especially for turbodielselweasel:
Plus a couple from a very wet weekend on the green lanes and a pay & play near Newton Abbott:

P.S.
I am trying to organise a joint VW / 4x4 outing to the Baldhu pay & play site near Redruth (Cornwall) on the Saturday of the August bank holiday (the cornwall VW jamboree is at Stitians that weekend) if anyone on here fancies joining in....

They are not as expensive as you might think (not really the trendy thing to have in the VW scene) - top dollar seems to be around £2.5k for a non-shiny Baja...

That looks like a cracking way to spend a day / weekend. I really like the ones with the narrow front lights
