If you need any parts I'm currently breaking one
I am potentially after one of the rear seatbelt buckles if they're the right colour, the part number should be on the buckle
I'm failing at keeping this up to date
Day 3
So after getting the headlight washer system off the car, it was then a case of getting a t piece to replace the broken one so that I could test the system out.
A quick trip to B&Q yielded the parts I needed, though a slight miscalculation on my part of the size of the t piece meant that the hose clips were not really necessary..
After a bit of heat from a hairdryer, the hoses were on and the system fitted to the car loosely to test the operation.
One appeared to work fine, giving a quick spray for every 5 or so applications of the windscreen washers, but the drivers side just seemed to be leaking everywhere
A closer inspection showed that the drivers side washer had a slight crack in the body of the washer jet
But as I needed to use the car and it was getting dark, I just cable tied the lot to the car temporarily
The rest of the day was spent giving the interior of the car a damn good clean as it needed it after transporting the MGB bonnets..
Day 4
As it was a very fine crack I thought I'd have a go at filling it rather than shelling out for a new jet, so I bought some of this stuff which claims to be water resistant etc. etc.
Certainly seems solid now that its cured, so I'm confident that it'll do the job
And this is where the photos stop really as I fought with the bumper to get it back into one piece and back on the car...
The first issue I encountered was getting the chrome finisher back on to the base bumper, there is a very tight gap for the headlight washer hoses to fit into so to get the whole thing to go together nicely is nigh on impossible..
Eventually I got it on after taking off the bumper ends and reattaching them afterwards.
The next issue I encountered was the overall poor design of the washer system hoses.. The feed line that goes to the t piece in the bumper is only just long enough to actually reach, so quite how one is supposed to connect up the hose, I have no idea as you just have no slack. So I think I will have to get some more hose and extend the line to give me enough slack to make the fitting easier
Day 5
Christmas day, no car work
Day 6
Boxing day, no car work there either
Hopefully I should be able to have another crack at it tomorrow, need a couple of days to build the mojo back up
