When following a BMW 2002 today,I noticed the reflection of myself on my bike was upside down,intrigued by this i got up nice and close to a peugeot at the next set of lights.My reflection was the right way up! I found myself looking at every car I pulled up behind.And the only other "Upside down" refection was on a mini. Is this something to do with old paint?  |

Nope, nothing to do with paint - I would have thought it's the curvature of the panel  - if it's concave, the shape acts causes rays of light to cross at certain points so the reflected image is upside down. However, BMW 2002s are usually pretty flat at the back......How odd! For a practical example look at a spoon |

newish puntos and bmw 1 series reflect you upsidedown, I don't think how ever this is an excuse to tail gate ;D

Get a spoon and look into the end. One way around you'll be right way up, other way around you'll be upside down. Depends on the curvature of the panel, puntos have concave rear panels. Now donk yourself on the head with the spoon for thinking it was the paintjob  |

was it a proper mini or a new MINI, might be BMW paint if it was a new MINI New mini,and both were black? As for the tailgating,My latest bike has no mirrors,speedo etc. Hence looking at the reflection in cars,to make sure Surreys finest aren't behind me,as I gently pull away.......... ;D ;D |

Reminds me of the sidescreens I had on a kitcar once. Clear polycarbonate windows in frames. My mate taps one and asks.."what's this made of then?" to which I replied "clear metal Bob"....."Oh! that's clever, never heard of that!".....
