I use my e28 BMW M535i daily. Over 200,000 miles and its still racking up 3-400 a week. Its a great car really. I'm very much of the opinion that cars are to be used, regardless of weather or whatever.

All my cars have been daily's unless i need to use my big van. The Pro Street Minor was a bit of a handful for daily transport though. Old cars are no fun unless you drive them.

Sounds funny; As much as i want to enjoy my retro all the time, i don't like taking it for granted and it being a general hack they usually are or end up being my daily though.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

i know some people will buy some of the old parts. i got £120 for a set of the old original middleburn dogbone cranks with most of the anodisinging worn off and no chainrings when i put them on ebay!!!
i just wish i hadnt broken so much of the stuff i had back then. i was hard on bikes, jumping and drops and stuff before seriously strong hardtails existed. loads of snapped x-lite bars , snapped XT and XTR cranks, mavic d121s folded in half, etc. bent multiple pair of forks or blew the seals on em. snapped one of the old team marin frames, the ones that had the frame tubes satin grey and the tube joints sprayed a hidieous neon colour, green i think it was. went really well with the purple anodised canti- brakes ;D
as cool as it all was back then they really were wibblepoo compared to what ive got now!! i could drop my current bike off a cliff and itll be in the same condition when it lands!

The (stripped out, heaterless tappety mofo) capri was my daily for a good three months between October and December. Racked up over 4000 miles over those months. Loved it tbh. Which is probably what killed the engine, ho hum - it'll be resurected soon.

Yep, use mine daily. I've used all of the classic/retro cars I've ever owned as daily's at some point for a few months.

Hmm, When my Amazon last drove (which was a while back now - before christmas) I'd use it for various trips but never as my daily. Under my ownership it did 3,000 miles in 4 months, which is more than what it did in 5 years previously. This may have been what killed it for a while From my Sale base (i.e. the street where I used to keep it) I went to: Levenshulme (many a time) Sheffield (on the Snake in the dry, the rain and the snow, the last without windscreen wipers.... 3rd gear everywhere!) Lancaster (hate the fugging place for various complicated reasons, but I had to go and deliver something to a mate) And back and forth to Crewe many times. IF i get through the MOT I'd like to go on a big trip to Taunton and then (don't laugh) the Nurburgring.
