Hi all I've got a 1.8 mx5 engine I'm putting in a hillman hunter atm (I Will get round to putting up pics) But does anyone know what pressure I should run the fuel line at? Or what psi fuel pump I should get to run on the standard ECU and on an aftermarket one when I can afford it? I'm gonna use uprated braided fuel lines n so on cheers

Dunno about the 1.8 but the 1.6 is as follows, so that's at least a starting point? pump (sits in tank) 64-85psi regulator (on fuel rail) 38-46psi

Yeah that's quite helpful mate. Although I've bought a competition pump, so I'm guessing I'm gonna have to upgrade the regulator? Possibly the fuel rail as well? Cheers

Have a look on my profile and at my build thread. I've just stuck one in my hunter, drove it for the first time last night actually! As for the fuel pump, I used one that was for a red top engine. And the stock regulator. I am using megasquirt as well so this would neglect any pressure differences as I have just tuned it to the pressure I have!.
Whilst typing this I have noticed that Nomad has linked my build, thanks man! I'll. Be updating it when I've been out for a bit setting it up this evening.

Not likely you'll have to uprate the pump or change the pressure regulator if the pump has been uprated. The pressure regulator normally receives fuel at a very high pressure and then regulates it down to the correct pressure for the fuel injection system to operate at a constant pressure.
If I were doing it, I'd stick with the fuel pressure regulator which is already attached to the engine and use whatever pump fits into my setup and see how it goes. For peace of mind you could fit a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and see how things are.
