Why are people still guessing when the answer has already been given on this thread? I'm nay convinced till I see pictures of said coat of arms on the right motor Think I'm getting a bit OCD about this - I need a beer

Ford coat of arms mate from pre blue oval badged times in ye olde worlde perhaps .... Excellent detective work, retrowrongun. Here's a picture of the Ford coat of arms...spot on. No lozenge, the helmet's facing the wrong way and the background's different. I don't think that's it. What's Facebook then?

It'll probably turn out to be un car related. A bar mat or something like that?

The Coat of Arms for the German name Helm... Slightly closer but the lion is holding a helmet and no diamond above.

But everyone's vision of arms can be different and am sure the lozenge just represents a noble connection that's all
Either way those last two are quite similar agreed but surely if part was in a car you would hope it is a car related coat of arms Hence me saying ford must be some experts that can put this one to bed surely hahaha

My father has a long history in classic/vintage automotive journalism and in heraldry, and emailed thus:
"odd one. not one I've come across. with it being on a car mat it looks like a car radiator with a lozenge badge. Maybe made up by a coach builder or parts supplier to imply 'quality'.
I'm pretty certain its not real british/french one though. the single lozenge is used wrongly; it would be longer than wide and more often used in 3 or more. too many lines in the chief; not usual to have so many, 6 is common, or 8 is maximum. the helm is a typical victorian representation often copied on pretend c.o.a. the lion rampant is the most common single beastie to put on shields.
without colours its [x] a lion rampant [z], on a chief paly 14 [x and y] a lozenge [x] x,y,z = colours eg or a lion rampant sable, on a chief paly 14 argent and azure a lozenge vert = on a gold background, a black lion rampant, on the chief of 14 stripes of silver and blue a green lozenge
one of the few car makers I can think of who used a lozenge badge was Riley."
