Posting this on behalf of my mate Ste, at 5Speed:
As I hope you've guessed from the title, I'm selling my beloved 205 GTi. She's not a barn find, project car, rare (they did make 300 of these) nor is she an excellent candidate for restoration - she's just a GTi.
She is, however, in pretty good nick for a 23 year old car as I hope the photos show. She isn't perfect as she's a driver's car not a show car and she has been painted as there was some rust that was cut out and welded and the roof lacquer had surrended ( Well she IS french)
There is a full Genuine Peugeot exhaust that's in really good condition and she has been fully undersealed.
You'll notice that the front seats are full leather. I've got half of a full set of leather rear seats too. I do have the original seats which will go with the car, I just like leather...
The wheels are near perfect as they were powdercoated and the tyres are all Goodyear Eagle F1.
The front tyres are a bit low.... almost as if they had lots of power going through them or something...
I know the purists will hate me but I had the door locks removed as I didn't like the idea of her being stolen.
There is also a period K&N air filter kit fitted.
There are a few niggles - she's a clean everyday car, not a concours car.
If what you're looking for is a 1950's juke box then you're looking at the wrong car, sorry.
I've got a few bags of (very) random spares that will go with the car - thinks like the aforementioned seats, bigger brakes, spare cam covers, air flow meters, most of the original air intake system.
There's no radio in the car as I couldn't be bothered with one, but if you really want one I've got a box of old ones you can choose one from.
The vacuum seal on the sunroof works as it should. I don't know why but that's my favourite feature of the car.
I rebuild the cylinder head a few years back and decoked the engine. Don't worry, I'm a Ferrari trained Technician so I even know what I'm doing....
I've had her 5 years, I've really enjoyed her but it's time she went to a new home as I just don't drive her as much as I should any more. The previous owner is a friend of mine and he had her for quite a few years before me.
I'm afraid I don't have service history for her as I've serviced her myself whilst I've had her but she's had new oil and filter at least every 3000 miles, new brake fluid every two years and everything as and when she should. I replaced the cambelt a couple of thousand miles ago too.
SOLD AS SEEN -it's not a brand new car, it's up to you to check her out. You are bidding to buy, not to haggle. I think everything works but it IS french. I've been as thorough as I can but the end responsibility for checking the car over is with you.
