I acquired some moon discs over the weekend, I'm tempted to try them on the Corsa. Err, how do they fit though?! They're smooth on the outside (obviously) and smooth on the inside too, with a lip so that they will just push on. Only, they don't stay on - there are some weights on the outside edge of the wheels that I guess need removing, but the valve sticks out an' all, and they must be held on by more than just luck surely? ;D I can't really judge if I like them or not when they won't stay on for more than thirty seconds ;D I think I need to re-do the structural gaffa-tape repair visible in the pic before that side of the bumper falls off again! Oh, pics of cars with them on would be welcome in this thread ;D

Pukka original style Moon discs are held on by three self tapping screws - you need to drill into the rim and use some threadlock on the screws. Moon also now do snap on discs that push on like traditional hub caps and for racers there's the Dzus fastener option ;D There are of course numerous copy-cat discs available but they all fit in much the same way. Looks like this Imp is using the three screws and possibly an extra one in the centre with a small bullet number plate nut for shiny points.

Cool, ta ;D These have definitely been used in the past but there's no sign of any holes or fittings or fixings, they're completely smooth!
My idea of using no-more-nails was quickly rejected ;D

I'd be going for the 'drill the rim' option, using small stainless self tappers, or of course you could drill and tap the wheel rim for a really top job. Threadlock being a must of course. The valve can stay behind the disc. After all, it's only three screws in the way, and that has to be easier than some modern wheel trims when it comes to removal!
I'm looking at the gaffa repair and I'm thinking it looks like that on purpose ;D

check out MOONEYES.com the hOme of the moon disc to determine which ones you have, this may help with fitting them.As for the TIKI MOBILE (Imp) above its running original 3 point screw fixed Moons, the bullet bolt centres are just for show.......if you have the press on type can you modify the mounts for a tighter fit or are your modern rims too tapered? hope this helps MR TIKI

I'm looking at the gaffa repair and I'm thinking it looks like that on purpose ;D The vertical strips were necessary, I spent several days testing on my journey to and from work to determine how best to stop it squeaking as it moved whilst I drove ;D I followed the theme around all the other bumper corners though just to complete the theme really ;D Thanks Mr Tiki!
