oh right. not seen one like that before. and that's in a taxi? looks like the Cabster type with turbo placement.
pump looks mechanical anyway.
can't see why you'd have any issues using it in something else. just make sure you get the shifter and any wiring for the glow plug relays etc. also the front half of the prop.

well, I don't recognise that pump as a Bosch, so it could well be a lucas pump - no real issue, other than not as easy to "up" the fueling as a Bosch pump. If it's a mechanical auto, and the kickdown linkage is still intact - it's just a case of physically mounting it in the truck

Did you have it running in the chassis? You'll probably need what ever the pump is plugged into, autobox will probably be fully mechanical so no problems there.

Surely it will have about 400,000 miles on it if it came out of a taxi?
Also, wastegate only boost control... that's not going to be very fast, lol.

you certainly don't buy an old Nissan diesel engine to go fast lol
newer ones fitted to the Almera 2.2 turbo diesel are supposed to be very quick but lots of tech needed to use them...

I had a taxi with the TD27 and it is by far the slowest vehicle I've ever driven. It could only do at most 5 or 10 MPH up a steep hill with just one passenger in the back. Turn-on-the-spot steering and suicide doors made up for it though.

my D21 is TD27 non turbo. very slow, esp when towing even something very small... looks cool as though, so i wanna upgrade to the turbo version.

Some London Taxis had a turbo fitted, but that was to clean up the emissions rather than to give more power. A version of this engine with a different turbo (for more power) was fitted to the Nissan Terranos. I've been pondering whether the whole engine will swap from the 4x4 to a Fairway cab....

I don't want speed i have a V8 for that i just want a good diesel engine and at £100 for a complete rolling chassis with engine ,box is good for me.And the London taxis are big they carry five people plus the suit cases so what i want it for i should have no probs.

I'm thinking you got an absolute bargain there - it would make the basis of a good hot rod too....
