Following stuartp’s post earlier in the month: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/166111/thwarted-theft-ford-cross-londonThieves turned up at his work this afternoon & succeeded in nicking his Escort! Silver Mk1 Escort reg EPX960L was stolen from outside the owners work at around 1:20pm on Friday 30th May 2014. The vehicle has rectangular headlights & no front bumper. It has a tracker fitted which indicates that it maybe on a traveller site off of the A206 near Dartford. There was an attempted theft of this vehicle from outside the owners house earlier in the month, but the owner was alerted & managed to stop them. This time he wasn't so lucky!

that is good news.I'm surprised by the lack of comments on here about it.if it had been found in a banger yard, have of the members on here would be jumping up and down with abuse.can never understand people who restore and modify stuff and then never fit trackers or alarms

I'm sure that it's just a few bad apples giving an otherwise honest and friendly part of the community a bad name.

Hi All Stuart had purchased one of my small trackers about 18mths ago and this is what was fitted to the car. The insurance ones are great but the size of them make it easy to find. For more info on the unit Stuart has www.savvitrak.co.uk I had a separate site done as I don't really do these via my normal business, I purely got them in for myself after having a Xr4i stolen a few years ago, I have some offers running at present and don't make a huge amount of them hence keeping them separate but I have been offering them to certain clubs and forums in the hope we can all keep our own cars, this has been proved to work on Stuarts car.

Savvi, do you travel to fit them? Would Scotland be too far?

These units can be easily fitted yourself, it's portable has it's own battery ............ however I do supply a car charger in the package which just needs a live and negative connecting. Stuart fitted his own one ...................... having said that I arrange tracking installs for several large companies nationwide so I can arrange for something to be done if needed. Package price for those asking is £196 for the unit, mains charger and car charger (normally £29.99 on its own) and recorded delivery, it comes with some Sms and position credits but will need topping up after you have played with it for a few days, which is done via the savvitrak website
