I find myself drowning in a sea of potential fuel pumps for my Starlet and have no idea whats best to go for so am after a little advice. I thought if you ran twin 40's you ran a Facet red top and that was the law. Not so, as there is silver tops, fast road, solid state interupt............etc. So I have twin 40 Dellorto, a 1500 Toyota K series engine and will be running 120ish Bhp. I will most likely get one from here; www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=281_282so answers on a post card please, cheers chaps! PS. some cool pics to ease the pain of a boring thread.

Not sure what model Facet I run but its a small cube shaped, used with twin 40's on my 1776.
I was told anybigger than that , whichever one it is would over fuel it. Good pumps mind.
Nice Skyline^^

hi racer I'm runnin twin 40s on the scud with a facet pump with 40s its mainly the presure they run at anything from 7lb to 10lb will do a 1.5 at full chat if you find that its starving at full revs fit a pressure regulator and you can turn up the pressure as and when you need it andy

To be honest you could probably run a solid state and get away with it but if it was me I would probably use a silver top (competition) and a decent regulator, wouldnt recommend running it without one.

I'm using a Facet Red Top running through a V8 spec' Filter King. Nice pump, quality seem OK. I did have a look around for alternatives, didn't find much in the UK. Summit racing obviously have some decent stuff. US stuff is usually high flow for snorting V8's though. Kit like this is capable of draining swimming pools: Magnafuel Protuner 750TBH, as already said a Silver Top and regulator should be fine. I guess your Toy' used a mechanical pump before (like my Celica). Worth putting some thought into running the 12V feed for the pump through a relay that will cut the pump if the engine stops (oil pressure or revs)
