Bought of this very website for £400 with faulty engine.....
Before I start she isn't one of the early early MGF's as everyone keeps asking for the chassis number, she's just a bog standard MGF VVC.
I've since replaced the bottom end with a 27k 2002 MGF VVC, while the engine was out I also had the following done:
1. Water Pump
2. Fuel Filter
3. Clutch Kit
4. Head Gasket
5. spark plugs and leads
6. Air filter
7. Oil and Filter
8. Cambelt Kit inc VVC side
9. Tensioners / Pullies
I've missed loads off the list, but basically anything that could be replaced on the engine was.
The car isn't perfect by any means body wise, it has a dent on the drivers rear wing (common area to get dented) the front drivers wing has started to rust and the bonnet has had a poor repair done on the paint and the laquer has started to bubble.
The roof was very good until last month!! I noticed the local cat was using the roof as a bed and has since slide down the drivers side making two small rips. (see picture)
It has new tyres all round, the rear subframe has new polybushes throughout and it also has stainless steel water pipes.
It needs a good clean inside and out and bringing back to life, I got it MOT'd after it had sat for 3 years and it passed with 3 advisory items, all with reference to rear brakes being pitted / scored but not seriously weakened. I didn't see the need to replace as a good long run would bind these back in. She has since sat on the drive since the MOT as other toys have stopped me from having the time to get her back on the road properly.
It does start and stop on the key (although battery is flat)
Service book is stamped up to 81,627k
Couple of nights work to clean her up and she'll be good to go.
Any questions please do not hesitate in contacting me ON 07803 396963, Cheers Dan
