I couldn't find reasonable insurance for my Peugeot van despite being 56, retired, low risk area, clean licence, full no claims etc. AFAIK van virtually automatically means a commercial policy for most insurers and therefore higher premium than a car policy. Maybe something like a Morris 1000, Anglia, MKI Escort, and such could get classed as classics but doubt a Ford Courier would fall into that category. Have you thought about approaching your existing insurer and asking if they can add it to your main / daily policy ?

I asked the same question a while back, unfortuntly it can be a huge pain. My daily is a modded mk2 escort van. The only policy I could get was with Adrian flux on a commercial van policy. I started when I was 23 I'm now 26 the policy price hasn't changed much. They were good when I had to claim on the windscreen breaking thou. Some insurance companies quoted me 300 quid but wanted to put it down as an estate not a van. So be careful yours being a later van you might be ok. No claims wise is also a vague area as you may gain no claims but only for commercial vans and this may not convert to car insurance.as said before your best bet is multi car policy / multi driver policy Good luck with it : )

I'm in a similar pickle with van insurance!
I have 2 vans - a 2002 Transit & a 2004 Nissan Terrano [its more 4x4 than van, but insurance don't see it that way] I'm now trying to insure a 1999 Escort van, and struggling to get insurace, as they cant understand why i need 3 van's and 3 cars on the road on Social use only as none are used for bussiness!
