Model: Toyota Starlet 1993 GLi
Year: 1993
Mileage: 60k
Tax: end July '14
MOT: February '15
Hi there,
This 1993 Toyota Starlet 1.3 GLi is an awesome example of no-nonsense motoring by Toyota.
90’s Toyota’s as we all know were (and still are!) ultra-reliable, and the Starlet was no exception. This one, red in colour, 3 door and even has some Toyota alloys – all with good tyres. The 1.3 engine drives very well, and is pretty nippy too! The gearbox works nicely, and in all is a decent car to drive for an old thing.
The amazing standard specification includes;
No electric windows,
No CD player (but there is the original Toyota radio and tape deck)
No Air Con
No power steering
No electric mirrors (though they are ‘remote style’)
Basically, no mod cons at all. Nothing to go wrong, just get in, and go.
MOT is until Feb ’15 – the last few MOT’s with NO advisories
Tax until end of July ’14.
Has covered a mere 60,000 miles from new, and lots of previous MOT’s to back this up. 3 former keepers on the logbook. Local car with Peterborough Toyota plates still. Interior is in very good condition except that the driver sunvisor flaps down, and the driver seat doesn’t tilt on the designed lever – however it DOES fold forward and can be moved forward and back using the two separate levers – so access is still possible. The passenger side works fine too.
odywork generally presentable – some surface rust on the front wings, and some ‘have-a-go-hero’ has tried to touch up a few bits and pieces around the car – again I think most of it seems to be overspray from a can, and should cut back easily. Only other gripe to mention is that the gas struts in the tailgate have given up – again nothing major – just like to point out everything I know.
Personally I think it could make an excellent retro daily, either with some work – or take down the rat-look route and lower it. I’m pretty sure it’ll never give any trouble at all.
It’s a cheap car, it is what it is – not many of these shape about, come take a look, and fall in love with it’s odd looks and cute charm! Looking for £425 ideally – I’m using it at the moment so miles will increase slightly.
Any questions either message on here, PM for number
Thanks
James
