It is with great regret that I have to sell my beloved 'Zee', a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc Z28. Here is your opportunity to own a genuine American muscle car!
I have owned the car for the past 4 years, and have spent in the region of £5000 on getting it running sweet and straight, including the fitting of a brand new Chevrolet crate motor. The new engine is a 350cu/5.7 litre V8 replacing the tired old original 5.0 litre block, which was installed professionally by Robin Gray and the good guys at Autopontiac, and the car has been looked after and serviced by them since. I have done less than 4000 miles since the new lump was fitted, so it’s nicely run-in but still as-new. Forget all the usual problems you get with old American cars – with Zee there are no leaks, he always starts first time and through the 3-inch pipes he sounds the absolute business.
As with any 27 year old car, there are a few cosmetic areas that could do with a little further TLC. A previous owner has made some poor attempts at touching up the paint in a few places (see the pictures), but given the new engine and excellent running condition a new paint job would make this a stunning example. Underneath the car is in good condition with no holes in any of the floor panels, and only surface rust on the chassis members. Inside, the headlining is a little loose in places where it was removed to have new front seatbelts installed, and could do with re-gluing. There are also a few small tears in the fabric of the driver’s seat, but nothing to lose any sleep over. The original steering wheel has been replaced with a colour-matched OMP sports wheel, but I do have the original Chevrolet wheel if you wanted to restore it.
Any questions at all, please get in touch and I’ll be delighted to fill you in.
