advice.. Only start prepping the WHOLE thing if your ready to Spray soon.. No Need to go back to metal unless you have a specific reason to.. 2k Solid colors are easy enough to spray.. and easy to work with after painting. Wear a Mask The effort you put into the preparation pays off in the end Be careful what you read online.. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

if your repairing dents then remember that each dent is 2 dents , the obvious bit being inwaeds dent , the not so obvious being the edges of the dent sticking out , push/tap dent out while going back to tap the perimeter back in , a long rubbing block is your best friend on these , you nearly always get pin holes in the filler so use some stopper to sort that ,
if you flatting it down for a solid gloss colour then it can hide a lil bit more tan a base and clear , get a rubber pad and wrap your paper around it , avoids finger marks etc , 800 wet for rubbing for a repaint is fine if doing all by hand , in most cases you only need to prime repairs and where the paint is bad or been broken through, you want it to be smooth with little to no orange peel in the prepared area , make sure all the shine is gone , if the paint is good and smooth you can get away with scotching the car down to loose the shine , make sure you get all edges good or itll flake later on,.

if you don't care what it looks like you can use a red scotch pad to key any sound paint , anything flaking or scratched will need sanding
