I have some 4 1/2 inch gt beetle wheels which need to be a bit wider, some gt wheels are 5 1/5 as are a lot of bug alloys. The plan is to use them on the back of a rail, but might use plain steels depends on how it looks when finished, if not used on rail will go on my jeans bug, so how wide will fit under the back of a standard beetle? Not a fan of stretch so will be running "ordinary" tyre width for rim width. Hope this all makes sense, Ttfn Glenn

you can usually pick up wide wellers fairly cheap, i think the rims on my bug are 14x6 but its tucked away miles from here so i can't check, i know i use standard T25 tyres on the back and golf tyres up front

Thanks for that, but I want to keep to 15 inch gt wheels as my bug is a jeans, which had them as standard, Plus I like the look, but only 4 1/2 wide. two for the front will go to 5 1/2 but I want to max out the rears, I plan on the rears being used on a rail but not sure on the look and so want to keep the option open, to use on the bug, would really like to have centerline style for the rail but that would ramp costs up Ttfn Glenn
