She's gone, my tidyest car evAr! wheels of teh conveyor belt are moving though! Auto trader got me a hand full of interested parties (all from the paper version it seems), one lad was dead keen and whizzed over from Scarborough this morning. seemed nice and seemed to know his stuff. barted me down to £450 form my magazine asking price. I was not bothered really, thats how much I offered it here for and he's only 17! gave him a tenners worth of petrol and the old radio, I think he got a good deal. best bit is he wants to look after it and restore it, so didn't think too much to my DIY wing repair! I thought it was ok, better than rust. So my options now? Not so good May sell the original MR2, sensible option and i'm nearly out of my limited miles! interested parties PM me Need to mobilise my v8 then for occasional fun, but what to drive? for odds and sods? work my ass of rejuvinating this? it needs: starter/earthing, bit of DIY weld, new belt and oil plugs etc, and new brakes... cos it has been stored for four years, would rob time off the V8 build though. but free a space to put the monster or simply tax and insure a mk3 Fiesta 1.1 builers van thats going begging with 11 months MOT? ready to roll just needs a wheel bearing ideally I need another car NOT but that cheap tax and cheap petrol really turns me on! just source cheap comms insuraunce somehow? what do you's think?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Excellent! Glad to see the sale went well, and to someone who's going to look after it. Cant ask more that that! I reckon the Cortina is the one you should drive- A bit of welding (not much welding is it?) and a brake overhaul, a few engine service items and it will be a really classy summer cruiser! The Fiesta van sounds like the easiest option but you will be on prozac after a few months of driving one

Glad the Sapph went to a good home! I'd tax and insure the Fezza, meanwhile sorting out the 'Tina... the agony of having to use a Mk3 Fiesta as daily transport should spur you on to fix the Cortina in record time I reckon! Then do the V8 Sierra as and when really.

you need a reliable daily to comfortably sort a project. so use the van, and sort the tina. then sell on van, drive tina, v8 will just wink whenever you feel like runing to her for solace then

GET YOUR FINGER OUT AND SORT THE V8.
Whack it on LPG while you are at it. Then drive that all the time. ;D

I'd sell the MR2 and fix up the 'tina as a run about.

I got to agree, get the Tina sorted while you drive the Fez, sell the Fez for additional V8 funds while the Tina is on the road.
DIY in a full time LPG kit onto the V8 while building so you don't have the weight of both sets of full size tanks, then run the V8 full time once finished and the Tina is sold.

Nice one, I had a feeling you`d do ok with that Sierra. Turns my theory about the internet version being better for oddballs on its head a bit, though. Based on this success I might try a couple of crafty box ads in the mag this week.
I think you should stick to the plan with the MR2...Focus!

Some great sincere, and diverse advice there, thanks you're always a great bunch to ask. an almost moment of madness after getting the selling bug, yesterday had me selling the lot nearly! but thats not gonna happen yet! So far so good, the lad must be happy with his purchase.... Yeah the Van, its GF's dads old van, he's been given one of those Citroen Visa based things on a new Y reg! ;D apart from a big lump in the side its pretty good. he does not want to deal with undesirables attempting to buy the festa and shooting his knee caps, so he'd rather it went straight to the scrappers ot shortcut round the oval. so naturally my reanimatory side wants to save this darker hour of Fiesta. its a cute little 'Pat van' that could be zero conscience transport and a great tat hauler, then I could sell to a undesirable. ;D Biggest prob would be insurance, does it have to be commercial? cos when the tina's done i'd want to swap onto the policy. driving an F reg Fiesta 1.1 with 2 mucky seats for a year isn't ideal is it! Thnaks again for help, in the mean time I might borrow that Visa to pick up some Alfa doors... ;D
