Just to add a bit of info to your advert, this is a 1 year production car only hence the white rings on the grill. It should be a KK engine code, it will have a 5 branch manifold into a triple downpipe instead of the usual twin downpipe.

Thanks for the info. Does that make it more or less valuable?

Not sure about Gene Hunt, more like Norman Wisdom but good luck with the sale.

Thanks.
If you read the advert, neither do I.
A price in the title is a prerequisite.
Thanks for your help. More than I got on ClassicAudi.co.uk.

There was plenty of help in giving you a real world valuation from people that own and have owned 80quattros on classic-audi.co.uk It was yourself that took offence when you didnt like what was the truth, and indeed you failed to give a truely accurate description of the cars condition
On the one year model thing they came out in uk in 83 and were sold through 84 with the last being sold and reg in early 85,,, over 900 were sold in this time and theres a good few out there yet
Good examples are worth good money but would still struggle to make 3k

Well, I think/hope it has sold anyway. Deposit being paid tomorrow apparently. Certainly not £3000, but substantially more than your valuation based on photos you might have seen years ago. You've never even seen the car in the flesh. You've seen old photos, but you're an expert, so you are right.
I posted plenty of photos taken days ago but you preferred to look at the old ones you found on your laptop from "a while ago".
And all the "experts", including those who offered for it, omitted/forgot to tell me about the KK engine code thing. I wonder why? Not important?
Not the friendliest place classic-audi.co.uk for newcomers tbh, but who cares? Hopefully there'll be no need to return.

The kk engine code shouldnt need to be pointed out as that is the only option was available ,and the fact they are normally refered to as the 80qkk would be clue enough ?
As regards condition the recent 'respray' has involved the lower half of the car being done in stonechip before paint has it not?and ends of sills in poor shape? Not to mention the stonechip finish on the rear arches?? Correct me if I'm wrong please , added to the fact the arches arent that healthy now atm ,even after respray??? I know a lot more about in recent times than you think
Its not tax free in ireland either

There are photos of the ends of the sills and rear arches posted above! Nobody is hiding anything. How would I know what they are "normally referred to"?
Anyway this is pointless. The car is provisionally sold. You need have no more sleepless nights over it.

Classic-audi is up there with the friendliest forums I'm a member of. For whatever reason you've not heard what you wanted to hear there, but to criticise it as being "unfriendly for newcomers" is OTT.
Good luck with the sale though, I hope it goes through.

Its funny, Audi forums were in my opinion the worst forums to use when i had an Audi a few years back. I would have loved to have this off you but unfortunately it would involve coilovers and knackereing the geometry.
