Hi Folks
I have a Mk2 Jaguar, which was imported from South Africa. The underside has a lot of surface rust, as the underseal which was probably applied at the factory seems to have been applied over bare metal and is now falling off. I've had a go at one rear wheel arch, but while some of the underseal flakes off with a gentle tickle with a scraper, other areas need a heat gun, scraper, abrasive wheel followed by thinners! So I have one wheelarch done, treated with anti-rust stuff from Bilthamber, and painted with zinc rich primer, but I really need to get the whole underside done. So far it has taken me about three months to do one wheelarch, as I don't have the spare time, and it is such a labourious process.
I really want to use the car, so I am thinking of paying someone to strip, paint and underseal the bottom of the car. The trouble is all the "undersealing" companies I can find seem to just steam-clean the underside of the car and then underseal, which with my bare metal doesn't seem like an adequate solution.
Can anyone suggest someone in the Southeast who might be able to do this for me? Ideally the car would be fully stripped, dipped and repainted, but I really can't afford to do that!
Any suggestions welcome!
cheers
