This is a 1976 Lancia Beta Spider, with the 2 litre FIAT/Lancia twin cam engine. It's a 2+2 with a lift out targa panel and a pram hood at the back. They are pretty little cars, and although they are fwd, they are pretty good to drive (though no power steering so hard work when parking), and 118bhp from the factory. They are very tunable, and I have the original Guy Croft book Tuning the FIAT/Lancia Twin Cam available depending on price!
This particular car has done 42,000 miles, which is believable because it's not been on the road since 1996! I've had it for 9 years (I bought it as a project and have never driven it!), but I've realised I will never get around to actually sorting it, so it's time for someone else to take it on. I thought I had found this person and bought myself a new toy (the 924 in my sig), but he's let me down several times, so now I'm looking for someone else to take it (and give me my garage back). I'd prefer someone who will restore her, and if you can convince me that you will (and especially if you can collect quickly), the price is very flexible!
This is how it looked a few years ago:
Good bits
The bad bits
It needs the following work in addition to general recommissioning:
As mentioned - it comes with floorpan panels and outer sill panels. I also have a NOS rear exhaust section, a Haynes manual and a workshop manual that will come with the car. I would also consider selling the Guy Croft book and the wheel skates that the back wheels are currently sitting on. Clearly, it would need to be trailered away.
The thread describing what I've done (not a lot), and with more pictures can be found here:

I will send lots of pictures and my phone number if you get in touch (pm me your email address).
Cheers

Good bits
- The engine ran fine a few years ago, but hasn't been started recently.
- It's a rare early Spider.
- All the electrics can be made to work (again - they all worked properly a few years ago).
- The front and rear strut turrets have been welded by a previous owner and are nice and solid.
- It's cheap!
- The BetaBoyz forum is active and you can get many parts, though it's not like an MG!
The bad bits
It needs the following work in addition to general recommissioning:
- new front floorpans (homemade zintec panels come with the car)
- new sills (outer sills from Betaboyz come with the car)
- hole in rollover panel repaired
- rear calipers rebuilding
- fuel tank re-installing (removed due to leak)
- interior tidying (the door cards don't match the seats, and the front seats are torn)
- new tyres (the ones on there are ancient)
As mentioned - it comes with floorpan panels and outer sill panels. I also have a NOS rear exhaust section, a Haynes manual and a workshop manual that will come with the car.
