It's a little earlier than usual but I've decided to get a thread up and running for RRG14's Midlands Stand. People have been sending messages pushing me to get this together since about February! So I thought it was about time I pulled my finger out and did sum organdizinggz... Last years smorgasbord of tasty old tin made for a brilliant regional stand, apart from the fact that a lot of the cars were completely misdirectd by the marshalls and ended up on the other side of the field Hopefully, with the new venue at Shelsley, and the large amount of extra space, it will be a little easier to get around the show field this year. The available space means clubstand spaces are unlimited this year, which is nice considering the amount of effort that went into tryin to fill all 20 slots last year! However, please don't think this means you should put your name down on the list on a vague whim. I really don't want to be the guy who books a stand for 40 cars and only 8 turn up. If you're unsure whether you are coming or not, you have months left to decide. Wait until you're more sure to put your name down. No rush I'll kick it off again: 1. timbaker - Peugeot 205 (probably) 2.

Thanks Tim and apologies for chasing / messaging. No worries lol, I was just surprised at how many people messaged me so early! Normally these sort of threads don't appear until mid June, but it seemed very much in demand

I have been thinking about posting the stand passes out to everyone on the list this year. Last year I found it really quite difficult trying to find people on the morning, in a que of 1000 cars, with no idea what they look like, no idea what time they were arriving, no phone signal to call and ask, and a pretty monumental hangover. Any thoughts?

At shows I organise stands for we meet at a services / another location - hand out passes and then convoy in to show.
Although the convoy thing won't work if people are arriving on different days so scratch that.
We could have a pre-meet one evening to hand out passes if everyone / majority are Midlands-based?

Well, we'll be arriving Saturday lunchtime if all goes to plan, so we can catch up on the campsite

As you say, some people arrive on Friday, Saturday and at various times on Sunday. Last year I found everyone who was camping, but most people arrived at some point on the Sunday. As the show is in the Midlands, a lot of people from the area see little reason to camp. Hell, this year it is less than half hour drive for me (although I'm still camping ) We could have a pre-meet one evening to hand out passes if everyone / majority are Midlands-based? This is a good idea, certainly worth looking at. It may be worth all turning up to one of the already popular meets in the Midlands?

Yeah full weekend I'll find you I'm sure I didn't have trouble finding people on the site, just on the morning of the show.
