Following on from my Pov Spec Cars That were once Cheap thread.
What cars from Pre 1990 do you think are currently undervalued?
Qualifying status - you must not own one currently! All our own cars are currently undervalued no matter what they are worth. ;D
I'd go for Hillman Avengers, seventies chic but still worth peanuts.
Escort XR3i's - so many about - almost all worth next to nothing.
Toyota MR2s - still so cheap, ok so rust can be a problem but surely a proper drivers car?
Jaguar XJ-S - Prices starting to rise but still very affordable to buy, if not to run!
Any Renault 5 that isn't a turbo. My mate has a 1.7 GTX up for sale for £500 and is struggling to shift it. I can't understand it, quick, handles well, goes on forever, worth nothing?
I'm sure you'll come up with loads but these are the ones that have immediately sprung to my mind.

Every time I see a Visa on eBay, unless it's a GTi, regardless of condition they struggle to fetch a hundred notes! They have to be getting seriously rare now surely? I passed up an 11RE convertible for 50 quid a few years back

Pretty much any Volvo......My Volvo is post 1990 so I can mention Volvos! Sierras, Cavaliers,
When I think about it basically any "bread and butter" car from the 1980s is usually worth a nominal scrap value only, even with some MOT and TAX. Got to be worth more, just as a mode of transport!

Avenger is a good call. Landcrabs are very cheap and are nice to drive - if not the most beautiful of cars. Anyone modded one?
But, the plus side is that cheaper cars are more affordable! Don't wish for popularity as you then won't be able to afford one!

I'd go for Hillman Avengers, seventies chic but still worth peanuts. Escort XR3i's - so many about - almost all worth next to nothing. Agree with both of those Avengers are so cheap. Deffo due a rise in prices. And as for XR3i, look at any old sporty ford. Mk3 XR3i will start to become the new Mexico. Prices on Mk1 fiesta's are already beginning to get steep even on povo spec ones

We were on the snakepass at 12:30 this morning in the MR2 with a boot full of bike! , its fantastic, not piles of power, but loads of potential, and handles pretty good standard and old. if i didnt have my others i'd chuck some time money love at it, couldn't be without one now! only a matter of tme i guess. Theres a lot of cheap cars out there, I guess theres just too many!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Ford Pops. Parts are really dear and in standard trim aren't worth much.
Early Austins are cheaper than I thought they would be too.

Maxi's seem quite cheap. Seem to sell for less than the equivalent Marina. Despite being clearly better. Spacious, 'big-mini' handling, funky colours etc. No-one 'mods' them. WHY? Show me an early maxi right now and there is a danger I will show you my overdraft! ;D

Thats true, I've seen modified trabants, meastros and all other kindas loved cars modified. But I can't ever remember seeing a modified maxi? apart from the usual NT, Kernow and "I've been to Fort William" sickers all over the back window!!!!!

Close to my heart, BMW E21s. I currently have three, one was £220 (my good one) and I picked up two for free as parts cars. Definetly unloved but I can't understand why... small, 2 door coupe/saloon, RWD, cheap and easy to fix (even for a n00b like me). 316s going for nothing, 320s and 323i's are bit more expensive but still not a lot.

Yes, I always wanted a 90's style Maxi. chrome rimz, black windows and timmy mallet pink, rake, and subtle bits and pieces....
