I am in the process of making up a new instrument binicle for my 500 which I was going to finish in black wrinkle paint, the only problem is that I have just been told that you cant put wrinkle finish over filler, does anybody know if this it right?
Also sholuld the binicle be etch primed or is it normal to put the wrinkle over bare metal and filler?
Thanks in advance for your help

Not had any experience with this material but judging from this random site www.nfauto.co.uk/wrinkle_paint_chrome.htm and reading this bit, "WRINKLE PAINT & CHROME IN A CAN Red & Black Wrinkle Paint for that authentic period finish on GRP or metal. Great for dashboards & rocker covers. Included with each order our own set of detailed instructions on how to achieve the best results." I'm guessing the only reason would be paint sinkage if applied straight onto filler. I'd use some primer on it first, to be safe, then flat down and topcoat.

Thanks, looks like my mate was wrong, I had fabricated the binicle thinking that a skim of filler will cover all the imperfections, looks like I can stick to plan A
