For sale here is my 1996 classic mini equinox with MOT and tax. This is a limited edition model and is 1 of 750. It is fitted with a 1275 SPI 4 speed manual.
It is with somewhat of a heavy heart that I am having to place this car up for sale, despite wanting to keep it and enjoying it in every way, unfortunately personal circumstances and other ventures have forced its sale and here it is.
I bought this to run alongside my mk2 cooper whilst my mk2 is restored, I wanted something classic that I could use every day whilst still being reliable. This little equinox has achieved that very well. I don't know if the reliability is related to the fact it is an injection model but it has been the most pleasurable standard mini I have ever owned!

A brief overview of the car
Exterior
This is a mini anyone with any brief experience of the classic mini will be oh to aware of their fondness to rust, this car is no exception and does have areas of rust.
The scuttle corners are poor and ideally need replacing although they are watertight and it doesn't appear to have spread inside like some, this seems common on the later mini's and especially common on the equinox model.
A panels are not their best but are a cheap simple section to repair if that's what you choose to do. There are slight signs of bubbling under the paint on the front valance but it seems like surface and nothing to bad or in any way terminal.
The car appears to have had some work on the lower front valance area, at some stage in its life, it has been reprinted but the paint appears to have hazed a little, it is on the lower panels, it is there and it is worth mentioning.
Interior
This is in pretty good condition, everything is standard, with this being the equinox it is a limited run of 750 (I believe) and it has a limited edition interior. Rear seats and passenger seat appear to be spot on but the drivers bolster has split. This is on the black vinyl and will be extremely simple to have repaired. All dials and clocks work as they should.
Mechanically
Engine wise this car is great. Starts on the button, every time with out fail, pulls very strong and has not missed a beat in my ownership. There are no knocks, rattles bangs or any kind of concerning signs or sounds. The car does not overheat, holds itself very well around the M25 during rush hour with absolutely no problems.
The 8.4 brakes are in great condition and perform how they should.
Tyres and wheels are also in good condition, one of the tyres has recently been replaced, legal spare is also in the boot with a full boot lining kit.
Overall
This car isn't by any means a concourse show car but it is a reliable, ready to go fun little mini. If you're after something that is rust free and showroom condition this isn't for you. Want something that it bags of fun and ready to go with no huge concern regards aesthetics this may well be for you.
I drove this car home 300 miles from Liverpool to kent and it drove faultlessly, didn't overheat, didn't cause any problems at all.
Unfortunately I only seem to have a couple of photos worth sharing of the car. Over the next few days I will pull the car out and take some detailed photos of the car and every area that is worth seeing.
I am placing this car for sale on some forums that I use, I will do this for a few weeks and if there is no interest I will then move onto the more mainstream advertising agents like autotrader and eBay.
If I still have this car for the 18th of may it will be present on the London the Brighton run and you're more than welcome to nose around it.
Price wise I am looking for what it owes me which is
£1,550
Any serious offers are welcomed but anything silly will not be entertained.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I am all to happy to help. I have been very honest about the car with intention of wasting anyone's time so I don't expect to have my time wasted neither.
Car is located in ME7 Kent. I am happy to meet any potential buyer part way and assist in anyway possible.
