Mk2 Golf VR6 converted.
The car was originally 1.8 Driver in black 3dr sunroof model. The original car was MINT. The donor car was a Golf Mk3 VR6 Highline. The MK2 is a widetrack conversion and runs VR6 clocks. What could be uprated to MK3 was upgraded.
The car was re-sprayed in the summer of 2011 and then due to financial reasons it has been SORN since May 2012. The car is very high spec and has been well looked after. It has been started regularly and left to run for an hour or so each time (it’s also been out for a couple or runs to ensure that everything was kept running). However, as you would expect it would benefit from a general service.
The car is fantastic to drive and sounds amazing! I honestly hate having to sell it but needs must!
Located near Barnsley.
Tel: 07989185534
The engine:
1996 OBD1 VR6 2.8 Coil pack engine.
Gearbox, shifter & clocks from the Mk3 VR6.
Uprated plugs, leads.
Polished inlet manifold.
Stainless steel 6 branch exhaust manifold and sports cat.
Chassis:
Mk3 VR6 sub-frame and all running gear.
5x100 Widetrack
VR6 breaks front and rear.
Standard VR6 springs – would benefit from new sports springs or coil overs.
BBS split reps 16x8.5 rear 1.7 fronts all round (which give a nice poke). Toyo proxies all round (needs new fronts).
Also have the VR6 BBS alloys that will be included within the sale.
Body:
Full re-spray in 2011 (the car used to be black) The re-spray was carried out for the car to be used as an advertisement for a spray shop (was going to advertise in performance VW) however the spray shop owner never got around to sorting the advertisement out. During the re-spray we found only 2 small spots of rust – both were seen to, filled and ground smooth prior to painting.
Originally the car was the big bumper version – during the re-spray we decided to smooth all the clip holes from the skirts and arches and convert to small bumpers.
Re-sprayed in a lovely purple, we finished it off with gloss black small bumpers with a smoked chrome pinstripe.
All badges were sprayed in the same smoked chrome finish.
Transporter style side vent.
Gti twin exhaust – polished tip.
Front FK cross hair lights.
Interior:
Full black leather Corrado interior – looks great in the Mk2!
Uprated speakers and head unit.
As expected the car is not perfect but in fantastic condition as it has done very little mileage since being sprayed!
