since I moved down here from donny, ive been heard to winge quite often about the lack of general classic or decent modded cars down here in gippeswyk. saw a few decent ones today though sainsburys car park. I got excited about this one!!!! a very tidy left hooker 68-72 stacklight, on polish plates. it also had an unusual wood interior trim kit fitted, comprising doortops, centre console, hornpush. never seen that before. not so sure about the velour though a couple of spaces up was a unkempt looking bentley. mulsanne? then opposite that a fairly low, tastefully done lupo(?) on ronals then we saw this on someones drive when we were out and about. ive spooted a few other things of interest too, but didnt have a camera on me at the time. theres also a stacklight just turned up in my local scrappy when i went down there today to get some tyres for the commer, it looks fairly solid but its parts only.

Nice spots! Ipswich can be strange sometimes, you can go for weeks without seeing anything cool and then in the same afternoon you might spot a mazda 929 coupe a DKW and an opel Kaddett coupe GT/E....... happened to me last year

Life on Mars scene tax must add £££'s to the worth of that Cortina.
I bet there's plenty about, I saw loads on a recent trip down there (must post them soon). I suppose I'm looking at things through my slightly wibblepoo-tinted spec's, but I took a fair few pictures in the areas between Handford Road and Bramford Road then Bramford Road back up to Norwich Road.
Is the silver US-spec 280ZX still about? Belonged to ex-Extreme Noise Terror man Dean, not quite what you'd expect him to be driving.

haha, there is other people in ipswich then!! not much of a suffolk scene from what ive encountered, unless youre driving a barry'd 1L poverty model 5 door corsa, or a 5 door mondeo with half a bathtub strapped on each end or a rover, they like 4 series rovers round here for some reason. i suppose id drive past and ignore what a lot of people on here would class as a 'spot' though..... ive not seen the 280zx, but i did see a delorean the other day!!

not much of a suffolk scene from what ive encountered... You're 20 miles too far to the East! I bought Mrs JS's first mk1 Escort from Ipswich, the guy also had a really, really tidy 68 or 69 Camaro. And he had an AVO Escort, but that was at a secret location. Haven't seen Phil Tricker's "The Trickster" Ford Pop about recently either - proper '70s style complete with mural.

I know of one or two people in Ipswich well into big six-cyl Datsun/Nissan saloons. Farinas are popular too, mostly with ex-racers like Taffy Gillingham. My old Starlet lives down there, the lad also has a Westy.
Ipswich is arguably better served for vehicle-related things than Norwich, for example – it has a Transport Museum with lots of local stuff in, and it’s home to the wonderful Foxhall Raceway.
I lived there for a few years until 1995, and while I suspect that most of the old stuff I recall from back then will have gone I know that if I avoid squeaky-clean new housing estates and cruise older suburbs, council estates and the areas of Victorian housing close to the centre I’ll find interesting things.
