We've had this Mercedes 300e-24 for approximately one year now. My wife has been driving it during that time and it hasn't missed a beat - until a couple of weeks ago when the headgasket went. The car still starts and idles nicely. There isn't any coolant in the oil, but its spilling coolant and oil onto the ground. The car is cosmetically challenged with a bit of rust above the rear window, and some slight bubbling on the arches (but very slight). It also has some scratches to the paint. It also has a dent in the driver's door and wing where someone backed into it. It was my intention to fix the car and respray it but then the headgasket went. While I'm capable of fixing the headgasket, I simply do not have time to do so right now and so the car is up for sale.
The car is Brilliant Silver, paint code 744 with a grey leather interior. The both front seats are electric and heated. Aside from light wear on the driver's seat, they are in excellent condition. The car has power windows, and power sunroof, but no climate control. I believe it has the premium (for its day) Mercedes sound system - there are speakers in the door which are not fitted to my W124 estate. The car has the 24 valve 3.0 engine and a 4 speed automatic gearbox. The front springs are from a sportline-equipped 320 estate. Until the headgasket went it was in good running order. While I think the car is worth fixing up, I'm expecting that whoever buys it will be breaking it for spares and and there are lots of good bits to be had off of it if you're into W124s or W201s.
I'm looking for £300 or offers.
