Right, half heartedly tried selling my Disco and my BMW, don't really want to sell either but something has to go, swore i'd never sell this Escort but hand on heart i cant see it getting finished in my ownership, if i was really into it i would'nt keep getting side tracked by other stuff. That said if i cant get decent money for it i'll just push it aside for now. Was a well known car BITD, magazine featured, built and raced by Ken Hall, ran a 4.2 J.E Rover V8 with quad Webbers. Will be keeping the Rover engine and box, just the rolling shell and other associated bits, have log book in my name, reg is Q85 DDC, so could easily go on the road with no IVA hassles. retrorides.proboards.com/thread/97415/1986-rwd-mk4-crikey-update#page=6 W.I.W ?

I've seen this in 96 at New Brighton Promenade stages rally. Had fuel surge on left handers but otherwise fast. Sounded well! What's it rolling on Mark suspension wise the bits in thread? Is wiring, dash, bonnet, doors, hatch included? What axle + brakes too? Sounds good value depending on how bare! Ppl seem unwilling to post in here just usually send insulting offers!

Shell comes rolling as last pictured (front panel cut open since this was taken though). Comes with Fibreglass bonnet, Steel doors and Tailgate, all glass fitted (electric windows) fabricated Rallycross/Thundersaloon style dash, Springalex steering wheel, light plastic boat seats, blank Morette headlight housings, rear lights, hydraulic pedal box with new master cylinders, mount for fuel tank in boot (no tank), no roll cage but holes are there for a standard Safety Devices one to bolt straight in. Suspension consists of a World cup X-Member, compression struts, Capri front legs (converted to coil overs), adjustable TCA's, 2.9 quick rack, alloy rack mounts, steering column, new H/D U/J's, six link rear with Watts linkage, coil overs (converted Monroe's), rear axle is a full width (52") Capri Atlas with a 3.44 open diff, most stuff bought for MK2 Escort (then modified to fit so bits wont now fit a MK2) bought new from Rally Design. Shell is 100% solid and rot free, but by nature has had mountains of welding done, mostly fabrication but some repairs, the alloy Gartrac wings have a lot of filler and fibreglass in them though, not a lot of options here as the wings are no longer made, so though it's solid it's still a rough old thing (like most old rally cars), part of the appeal for me anyway. No wiring at all, no brakes except for MK3 escort discs on the rear (calipers and mounts still needed) Owe's (sp ?) me 4K so far (not counting the Rover V8 i'm building), recon it'd need that again to get it decent and on the road (depending on engine, could just bung a Pinto into it) Have a local guy interested in it but as i said wont mind if it doesn't go.

Na, that's a different car, that's his Escort Cosworth he built after the one i have (mine is a MK4 RWD), was wondering as i heard the last time my car was used was 94 and that was for a Dyno shootout for CCC Magazine. Ken now runs a Metro 6R4. Thank's for the clip anyway, noticed the yellow/blue Gartrac MK3 Escort at 3.39

Well, got paid for this yesterday, being collected Wednesday, sad to see it go , but new owner has bags more enthusiasm, plans to fit a YB in it, will tell him to start a thread on here Have kept the 3.9 Rover V8 i was building so going to build that as a mini project, make a frame for it (test bed), fire it up in the garage Then i suppose i'll need to look for a TR7 or something to drop the Rover into

Painted yellow fronts (billy inserts here tho), New set of 1" drop 200lb springs, cobra slotmag rears, std interior, needs paint + V8. V8 on logbook. Ah, that would be ideal (it'd be a rally rep TR8 i'd be building) only i'm not looking at the moment, would maybe be looking for something when (more likely if) i get the Rover built. Besides have something in the pipeline this very minute with a stonking great V8 in it

Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs or awt mate but you know to pack the oil pump with Vasaline before you try fire the rover engine up. Bryan Sure thing Bryan, know about that, cheers anyway, it's a later Serp motor with the crank driven pump, will probably buy new gears for it to be sure.
